FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Four people have been displaced from their homes after flames broke out at a central Fresno apartment complex Saturday morning.
The Fresno Fire Department arrived to find heavy fire and smoke upon arrival on Fruit and Cornell, and they were able to put out the flames.
Helmet camera video shows the intense smoke and flames crews were met with from a second story unit.
Crews were able to help one of the residents out of their home before fighting the flames.
Fresno Police were called as crews say several fights broke out between residents.
One of the biggest challenges they faced was people trying to get into their homes while firefighters were trying to put out the flames.
"It makes it more difficult," says Shane Brown, the Fresno Fire PIO. "We empathize with the person that wants to get back in the home, but we also have a job to do and time is of the essence."
EIght units were impacted by the fire but the extent of the damage is unclear.
