Kelly Slaters' Surf Ranch holds its first public event in Lemoore

LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- For the first time ever, surfing fans will be allowed to visit Kelly Slaters' Surf Ranch in the South Valley.

The pro surfer created a man-made lake near Lemoore for water skiing and surfing three years ago. Since then, he's had some guests visit, and just last fall, held a test event there featuring professional surfers.

In May, five international teams made up of men and women from the WSL Championship Tour will compete at the ranch.

Tickets for the two-day event go on sale beginning March 12 but for now, fans are able to register for pre-sale tickets online.
