Watch this rare time-lapse video of Disneyland's construction

It's hard to believe there was a time when Disneyland wasn't around. But one incredible time-lapse video shows the construction of the happiest place on earth from the ground up.

Watching now treasured Disneyland landmarks like Sleeping Beauty's castle and the clock tower on main street be constructed is a surreal experience but thrilling nonetheless. Construction on Disneyland began on July 16, 1954 and was just one year and one day later on July 17, 1955.

It's been over 60 years now since Disneyland was first built but the park still holds a special place for its millions of visitors from across the globe. Celebrate Disneyland's rich history by watching "The Wonderful World Of Disney: Disneyland 60," Sunday Feb. 21 on ABC. The special will include celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris and Josh Gad, performances from Idina Menzel and Elton John and new details about "Star Wars Land" to be revealed from Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford.
