FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Visalia police have arrested two suspected gang members for shooting a teenage girl in Exeter last month.
Investigators say 18-year-old Brendon Martin fired the shot that hit a 14-year-old girl during a drive-by. Vanessa Cruz took a bullet to the back and it lodged in her spine.
Police say she was walking to the store with some friends when a car drove up. Someone asked if they were gang members and when they said no, the car spun around, and the gunfire started.
Police finally caught up to Martin on Sunday, three weeks later. On Monday, they arrested a second suspect, a 17-year-old girl in Visalia. She was booked at a Juvenile facility on attempted murder charges. Police say she is also a suspected gang member.
