Florida mom accused of stabbing 3 kids, killing 2 of them

PALM BAY, Fla. -- A Florida mother is accused of stabbing her three children, killing two of them.

CNN reports Palm Bay Police received a call Friday night that Jessica McCarty was attacking her kids.

When officers arrived, McCarty was standing in her yard holding a knife.

Police fired bean bag rounds at her and then took her into custody.

Authorities then found a 6- and 7-year-old dead and a 5-month-old baby seriously injured.

Neighbors say they are shaken up by what happened.

Neighbor Joe Cepeda said, "It was rough seeing them carry all three kids out, especially when they working on the baby right here in front. That was heart wrenching it was just horrifying."

Another neighbor, Brad Cleary, said, "It's gut-wrenching man, it's just gut-wrenching to me. I could think the most horrible thing about it is they're kids. They're just kids and that will probably tear this neighborhood up."

McCarty is expected to appear before a judge Monday.
