FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new exhibit at the Fresno Art Museum is paying tribute to a local muralist whose work is featured throughout the Central Valley.

Visitors will be able to see the last piece of art FranCisco Vargas completed before his death last fall. It also features a video presentation and work done by children in the museum's art camp.

"We felt his technique, subject matter, inspiring to these young kids," museum Executive Art Director Michele Ellis Pracy said. "And he taught them that graffiti can be a bad thing and how to do a mural that benefits the public."

Vargas died last September after being hospitalized following a stroke. He also had been receiving treatment for lymphoma.

This exhibit will be open through January 8.
