A portion of highway 59 is closed due to flooding. Caltrans says the road is closed from Sandy Mush to Dickenson Ferry.

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A portion of highway 59 is closed due to flooding. Caltrans says the road is closed from Sandy Mush to Dickenson Ferry.



Water is overflowing from Mariposa Creek.



Crews are working to keep the road clear so they can re-open it as soon as possible-- a detour is available.



The highway is a major route from Merced to Los Banos.
