Lemoore school takes home winning title at U.S. Academic Decathlon National Competition

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A team of local high schoolers impressed everybody at the U.S. Academic Decathlon National Competition.

The Lemoore Middle College High School Academic Decathlon team are celebrating after winning first place in their division.

The competition was held in Texas.

Coaches Allen Tong and Janet Bengtson led their team of nine high school students through three days of tests, interviews, and speeches.

They competed against the best state teams from across the country.
