MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Madera police say witnesses helped them catch a young hit-and-run driver on Sunday.
The crash happened near the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Country Club Drive in Madera just before 7 p.m. Officers say a 17-year-old was driving a red truck when he collided head-on with a car. The people in the car suffered minor injuries.
The suspect ran from the scene. Bystanders followed the teen until police arrived and arrested him. He is now in custody for driving under the influence, hit and run, resisting arrest and possession of a firearm.
