Hundreds line Tower District streets for Mardi Gras parade

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of people lined the streets in the Tower District to take part in the 20th annual Mardi Gras celebration in Central Fresno.

The sights and sounds of New Orleans came alive as floats, dancers and singers paraded down the street. The parade was based on the theme "myths, folks and fairy tales."

Mardi Gras celebrations take place annually ahead of the season of Lent, starting this week with Ash Wednesday.
