2 arrested in shooting death of gardening crew member near Porterville

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Tulare County Sheriff's investigators have made two arrests in a recent homicide near Porterville.

Daniel West, 22, and Anthony West, 21, are in custody for the deadly shooting in the area of Springville and Success Avenue back on August 8.

Investigators say the victim was part of a gardening crew who was doing some work outside a home. He's been identified as Nelso Martinez, 25.

They say two men approached Martinez and one of them opened fire with a high-powered weapon. Following the shooting, both suspects took off running toward the Tule River.
