LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Lemoore Police Department is hoping their new proactive approach to crime will stop problems before they start.
Lemoore Police Officer Anthony Braly is part of a new two-person team called the Problem Oriented Policing Team or POP. Their job is to identify parts of the city that attract problems. The unit has the flexibility to work any hours they can to conduct surveillance and start building cases.
The POP Team will also focus on building relationships with business owners and apartment managers. Officer Braly said it's all about being proactive. If problems do happen, people know who to call.
Officer Braly said the biggest issues they're dealing with now are property crimes and drugs.
