FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno man was arrested for attempted murder after being accused of stabbing a man in Madera and almost killing him, authorities said.

Jesse Galindo, Jr., 20, is suspected of stabbing a man at a home near Melba Drive and Avenue 17 sometime after 4 a.m. Monday, Madera County Sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

The victim, who was taken to an area hospital, is expected to recover. Sheriff's deputies said he suffered at least two puncture wounds -- one of which just barely missed his main artery.

The sheriff's office contacted all law enforcement agencies in both Madera and Fresno counties. About an hour later, Fresno police officers arrested Galindo in the area of West Shaw, according to Stuart.

Galindo was transported to the Madera County Department of Corrections, where he is being held on $1 million bail.
