Police detain two in drive-by shooting case
Police have recovered a car they believe was involved in one of several gang-related shootings in the Fresno area.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police have recovered a car they believe was involved in one of several gang-related shootings in the Fresno area.

Police found this white Nissan Armada around midnight Thursday in the area of Pleasant and Dayton in Northwest Fresno. Two people who were in the car have been detained for questioning.

Police believe the vehicle may have been used in a shooting in a Northwest Fresno apartment complex that left two people injured. Authorities are hoping the suspect vehicle will lead to an arrest.

"If you have the shooter, or at least the vehicle involved and it may lead us to the shooter which could prevent other people from getting hurt, so it's a positive thing for the department and the city," said Sgt. Brian Rogers, Fresno Police Department.

Police say there were two other shootings in the Northwest Fresno area Thursday afternoon, but no one was hurt in those incidents. However earlier in the day, a three-year-old was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting in Southeast Fresno. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
