Suspicious package near Fashion Fair Mall deemed safe, roads back open
A suspicious package caused major traffic issues near Fashion Fair Mall in Northeast Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspicious package caused major traffic issues near Fashion Fair Mall in Northeast Fresno.

Police were alerted to the package around 1:30 Friday afternoon near Valley First Credit Union on Shaw Avenue and Angus Street.

Bank employees were evacuated as police set up a perimeter around the package.

The bomb squad was called in and officers used a robot to safely remove it.

The scene has since been cleared and traffic is moving smoothly again.
