FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State football looks to bounce back this Saturday in Las Vegas. An exclusive Action News poll -- conducted by Survey USA-- offers insight into what fans think of the job head coach Tim Deruyter has done.

Fresno state's 48 to 41 loss at home to Tulsa after blowing a 31 to zip lead on Saturday deeply hurt the Bulldog faithful.

In our poll 300 fans were asked to rate the job Deruyter has done over the past five years.

The poll showed 15-percent said he's done an excellent job. Another 39-percent said Deruyter has done a good job while 36-percent said coach has done a fair job and just 10-percent thought he's done a poor job.

"I'd give him a five at this point because it's going to take time. It's going to take time. I know Fresno fans are really expecting a really high level from him," said David Romero, Bulldog football fan.

Coach Deruyter knows the fans are frustrated with the team's 1 to 3 start.

"We understand what this business is about. There's a lot of pressure, but you either focus on that or focus on what you can control."

When asked if or when coach Deruyter should be replaced 15-percent of the fans polled said immediately. While 39-percent said at the end of the season and 40-percent said he should not be replaced at all.

"Jobs are always in jeopardy when you're a coach and don't have great seasons, but he can turn it around too so we'll see," said Christopher St. James, Bulldog football fan.

Ultimately game attendance will show where the bulldog fan base stands or sits.
