FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Across the nation this week is all about hugs, not drugs.
Schools in Fresno will hold different activities all week to encourage kids to stay in school and stay away from drugs.
Monday Roosevelt Elementary School had a special guest to kick off their week of kicking drugs aside. Assemblyman Jim Patterson spoke with students about the importance of saying no to drugs and how their decision today will make a difference tomorrow. "The decisions you're making right now are perhaps some of the most important that you will ever make."
Through out the rest of the week the students will get chances to dress up for other events.
On Friday all the students are invited to wear red and pledge to say no to drugs.
