United Health Centers opens new medical facility in Sanger

FRESNO, Calf. (KFSN) -- As the City of Sanger grows so does the need for basic services. The brand new United Health Centers facility stands out downtown.

It is designed to keep patients home instead of hitting the road for doctor's appointments.

"There really wasn't anything like this before so naturally they had to travel to Fresno or Clovis or what have you to get their medical care taken care of," said Sanger Mayor Frank Gonzales.

The community celebrated the grand opening of this unique facility which offers convenience with 21 exam rooms.

In addition to seeing a physician and having lab work done patients can also come here to have dental services taken care of in 10 other rooms.

It is a one-stop shop as optometry services are also available. The facility fills a huge void in Sanger.

"The need to be able to get these services to some of the rural areas of Fresno County is just an on-going commitment," said Deputy CEO Justin Preas.

The $5 million project will add as many as 50 jobs in a community of 27,000 people.

CEO Colleen Curtis says no patients will be turned away for financial reasons.

"Very unique and transportation. As you see our beautiful vans will pick our patients up from their home, bring them here for their visit and bring them back home," said Curtis.

Things are looking up in Sanger. This is the city's only office with an elevator.
