LIVERMORE, Calif. -- One person died in a small plane crash in Northern Livermore shortly after takeoff from the Livermore Municipal Airport.
Fire crews put out a 2-3 acre grass fire that ignited just after the crash.
The CHP confirmed there was one person found dead near the plane crash.
Preliminary information from the FAA said the pilot of a single-engine Piper PA22 reported control problems shortly after departing the airport around 9 p.m.
