Athletics slugger Khris Davis likely will be placed on the 10-day injured list pending results of an MRI on Wednesday.
Davis got the start in Tuesday night's 5-3 win against the Indians but left after just one at-bat due to what the team called lingering effects from a left hip contusion.
Davis, who entered Tuesday's game with 12 homers, has been slowed by the bruised hip, which he suffered on May 5 in Pittsburgh.
He told reporters after Tuesday's game that it's more an oblique injury than a hip injury.
Manager Bob Melvin has rested him whenever possible, but Davis hasn't been improving and the injury has been noticeable when he swings.
