Warriors' Andre Iguodala sits out Game 5 loss; Klay Thompson plays

Golden State Warriors guardKlay Thompsonplayed Thursday night in Game 5 against the Houston Rockets, but forward Andre Iguodala sat out the 98-94 loss.

Iguodala had also missed Game 4 after suffering a left lateral leg contusion when he banged knees with Rockets guard James Harden in the fourth quarter of Game 3 on Sunday. He was listed as questionable Wednesday after participating in parts of practice at the University of Houston.

"Last game was the plan [to play]. Tonight was the plan. So, it's all about timing. Just trying to get it right. Make sure I can go," Iguoadala told ESPN before Thursday's loss.

Both Thompson and Iguodala participated in shootaround Thursday morning.

"He's dying to play, but he's not healthy enough," Kerr said of Iguodala. "We'll just continue to take it day to day."

Thompson strained his left knee in the second quarter of Game 4 on Tuesday, but he played through it after receiving treatment in the locker room. He finished with 23 points in 43 minutes on Thursday.

Kevon Looneymade his second consecutive start in place of Iguodala, contributing four points in 22 minutes.

The Warriors are now one loss away from being eliminated from the playoffs, with Game 6 scheduled for Saturday at Oracle Arena.
