LeBron James becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer was a hot topic this week.
His journey to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar caused a significant uptick in ticket prices, and, even with the record firmly secured, fans are still showing up to see the Los Angeles Lakers star. Saturday's matchup against the Golden State Warriors was no different although James was sitting out his second consecutive game because of left ankle soreness.
One young fan was particularly glad that James traveled with the team, and her reaction to being seated next to him caught the camera crew's attention.
"When I heard that he had a foot injury, I was sad," she told ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters. "We didn't know if he was traveling with the team to this game or not. Then when he ended up sitting down here, I'm not as tall as him, obviously, so I could only see his shoes. Then I look up and I see LeBron James and what's going through my mind is, 'Oh my God, the greatest player of all time in basketball is sitting next to me!' I just freak out completely, I'm just thinking, 'Oh my goodness this is like the best moment of my life.'"
Things only improved for the fan from there. The new-look Lakers secured a 109-103 win and she met up with James for a photo op after the game.
