FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Southbound Highway 99 in Madera County is back open after a big rig overturned on Monday.

The California Highway Patrol says the truck turned over on the highway, north of Avenue 12, at about 2:30 p.m. It spilled bales of hay all over the side of the highway, forcing the closure of both southbound lanes.

The accident caused traffic to back up to Avenue 18.
