Valley woman celebrates 100th birthday in Selma

SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Valley woman marked a special milestone with five generations of her family on Saturday.

Catherine Brandon celebrated her 100th birthday at Cattlemens Restaurant in Selma. The Tennessee native moved to California back in 1942 and worked at the Del Monte plant in Kingsburg. Catherine says she never thought she'd make it to 100 but thinks it has to do with her active lifestyle.

"I kept moving. Sometimes I worked five minutes and rest five but I kept going," she said.

Catherine raised three children and now has six great-great-grandchildren to help celebrate reaching the century mark.
