Visalia student arrested for allegedly threatening shooting at middle school

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Visalia student was arrested over the weekend after police said they heard reports of a planned shooting at Ridgeview Middle School.

Investigators received reports of the threat on Sunday.

Police say officers later arrested the middle school student at their home. Detectives also found a gun at the house.

The child was taken into custody. Officials are asking anyone with information to call the Visalia Police Department.
