As the storm rolls into the Valley the much needed wet weather is great to see but it does create some hazardous driving conditions. CHP and Caltrans are keeping a watchful eye on the road conditions.
Over the last two weeks, the Central Valley has had a couple days of wet weather, but those were just smaller storms. This one is going to be bit stronger, bumping more snow in the mountains.
The roads may be slick, and pooling is possible.
If you are headed to any mountain communities, be prepared and don't forget to pack those chains. Those higher elevations are expecting a couple feet of snow.
The roads may be icy and last week when snow hit the foothill CHP was busy with dozens of calls mainly for spinouts. So remember to take it slow as you drive up these icy mountain roads.
