YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KFSN) -- As containment continues to grow on the Washburn Fire, the south entrance to Yosemite Valley on Highway 41 will re-open.
Officials say the highway will re-open on Saturday, July 23, at 6 am.
As of Friday morning, the Washburn Fire in Yosemite National Park and the Sierra National Forest is at 4,856 acres with 79% containment.
The fire broke out on July 7. It initially threatened the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing, but authorities say there is reason to believe it was started by human activity.
