Park Rangers Have Questions about an Empty Campsite

December 2, 2008 6:08:36 PM PST
Officials at Sequoia National Park are trying to find out more about a campground that's been left empty for days. These pictures from park rangers show an orange tent and other camping materials left at the campground near the area of Twin Lakes. There is still camping gear and food at the site.

Local hikers reported seeing the campground empty over more than a 24-hour time span. Park officials say they have no missing persons reports and have found no personal identification at the campsite.

They're asking anyone who has seen the campsite or has been in the area at all in the last couple weeks to call them immediately.
