Valley Republicans weigh In on Obama's Speech

February 25, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST
Two Valley Republicans weighed in the president's speech. Congressman George Radanovich said the stimulus plan is too expensive and will only increase America's dependence on government. "I applaud the president on addressing the problems in our nation, I don't agree with government solutions he's offering across the board. There needs to be new ideas other than what's out there," said Rep. George Radanovich (R) Mariposa.

South Valley Republican Devin Nunes said that in addition to our nation's economy, the Obama administration needs to tackle an issue that's crippling our local economy; a lack of water. "Laws and regulations that have prioritized two inch minnows in the bay delta over families and communities in the San Joaquin Valley need to be suspended, re-examined and changed."

Other Valley congressmen are expected to issue their reaction to the president's speech later Wednesday.
