Transit bus hit by Amtrak train in Oakland

There are no reported injuries after an AC Transit bus was hit by an Amtrak train near the Oakland Coliseum.

An AC Transit bus was hit by an Amtrak train near the Oakland Coliseum. The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. in the area of 66th Avenue and San Leandro Street.

AC Transit says the bus stalled on the tracks. The driver managed to get out within the four minutes before the train hit the bus.

There was no one else on the bus. There were 40 passengers on the train. No one on board was injured.

The Capitol Corridor train was on its way to San Jose. Crews are now trying to keep diesel fuel that spilled from the bus from going into a nearby estuary.

The Oakland police and fire departments are responding to the scene.
