Community rallies to replace stolen adaptive equipment

FRESNO, Calif.

The theft happened over the weekend at a storage facility in Clovis. The hospital rents a unit there to store equipment used for its adaptive sports program.

The program provides free recreational activities to children and young adults with disabilities. Thieves got away with nearly 16-hundred dollars worth of property, including life jackets, and a modified wakeboard.

Wednesday, the hospital announced $5,000 have been donated to the program. The hospital says all the additional money will be used to expand the program.
