The homeowner was gone overnight, but he knows what caused the big booms
Virgil Strait said a neighbor heard the explosions all the way down the block and thought it was bombs going off.
Firefighters said their main goal when they heard the explosions was to stay safe and protect the neighboring homes.
Strait has lived in the home since 1970 and neighbors came by to give him their sympathies about losing the place.
