Memorial Service for 4 Fallen Officers

Oakland, Calif. Mark Dunakin, Ervin Romans, Daniel Sakai and John Hege were shot by a wanted parolee. The suspect, 26-year old Lovelle Mixon, was killed in a shootout with police.

About 19,000 people are attending Friday's funeral service, including 12,000 officers.

Dozens of valley officers are among the massive crowd in Oakland Friday morning. About 20 deputies from the Merced County Sheriff's Department and 20 officers from the Merced Police Department left the city early Friday morning.

Along the way, several fire engines and patrol cars set up on freeway overpasses to salute a long procession making its way from Tracy, the hometown of one of the fallen officers.

It's all part of the overwhelming show of support for four men who died serving their community. Other law enforcement agencies are filling in for Oakland Police Friday morning so that all 815 members of the department can attend. That includes one Visalia dispatcher.
