Miss California Contestants visit Fresno

Young women from all over the state are in Fresno this week, as they compete to become the next Miss California.All of the contestants were at Fresno's City Hall Saturday, where they took a group photo, and then met with city representatives.

The group includes several contestants from the Central Valley, like Summer Loftis from Tulare.

She's competing as Miss Bay Area this year, after representing Tulare County last year.

Summer Loftis, Miss Bay Area said, "The experience under my belt really opened my eyes to the challenge to the competition. So I've challenged myself this entire year to work harder on my talent, on my interview, and everything possible I can imagine."

The pageant's preliminary competitions begin on Wednesday, and a new Miss California will be crowned next Saturday evening.
