Roommate Says Wallis Wasn't Target

Fresno County, CA Deputies said 46 year old /*Jim Badasci*/ showed up for work at The /*Fresno Equipment Company*/ armed with a shotgun, and opened fire. Investigators said after he killed Wallis, he shot himself. Hansen refuses to believe that Wallis, a 33 year old who loved racing and his powder blue Mustang was the target or the source of Badacsi's rage. "Knowing Ralph if he sees a guy with a gun he'd go over there and try and talk him down or say relax. I just can't picture Ralph being targeted for this."

Fresno State criminology Professor Toni DuPont-Morales explains that Badasci's deadly rampage may be the result of a culmination of several disappointing life events. "Where he lived, his home, what his personal life was but also his work life. How secure he felt where he was working, whether he felt he was valued. All those issues really do play a part in most work place violence. We have to reassess what our workplace is like."

Hansen, a manager himself said the senseless killing of his best friend at work will have a huge impact on his management style. "I'm definitely, its always going to be in the back of my mind, handle everything with kid gloves. Make sure no one leaves on a bad note, always have a good exit interview."

Fresno County Sheriff investigators are looking into the relationship between Badasci and Wallis. They're hoping to find out if there was personal or work-related vendetta.
