This mayflower trailer has been parked at Fresno's Riverpark since Thursday, as catholic charities collected non perishable food items, baby items, and cash to help people affected by the drought.

The goal was to collect $30,000 dollars, and though the final total is unknown at this hour, they were able to collect at least $6,000 dollars more than last year.

Jody Hudson, Catholic Charities said: "Even as bad as the economy is, people are still giving. And if people don't have money to go and purchase food, they're looking in their closets. They're looking to see what they have at home. And if they've got three blankets, they're giving us one blanket."

In addition to people driving up with their donations, schools, businesses, and community groups also joined together to help out.

The need for food and donations is constant, so if you'd still like to help out, you can call Catholic Charities at 237-0851.
