Fresno Police Officer Hurt in Fiery Crash

FRESNO, Calif. It happened around 7 o'clock Thursday night at the intersection of Bullard and Fruit. The intersection was shut down for several hours as officers investigated.

An eyewitness told Action News the officer hit a car that turned in front of him. The officer went flying and both the car and motorcycle burst into flames.

"She basically made a left turn in front of him they hit head on and he went kind of over her car. And the motorcycle exploded and we were right behind the car, and basically the motorcycle went into flames and it was a wild scene there for a second," said witness Frank Roque.

Police would only say that the officer suffered non-life threatening injuries. The young woman driving the car was not hurt. After being questioned by police she was allowed to go home.

An investigation will determine who was at fault and whether charges will be filed.
