Ryla Call Center in Clovis to hire at least 500

FRESNO, California

Ryla provides telephone customer service for many different clients across the country. Ryla will host a series of job fairs here at the call center starting next week.

They're hoping to fill the positions quickly so they can support a major cell phone company ... which is expanding its services.

Thursday, people were busy answering customer service calls inside this massive call center in Clovis ... but business isn't exactly bustling. That will soon change.

Ryla president and CEO Mark Wilson says, they are looking to hire at least 500 people. Several of those positions need to be filled by November first.

"Right now, our need is to hire between 5 and 600 people," said Wilson. "Permanent, full-time and part-time positions, along with management just to we're just going to expand in a big way here in Clovis."

Expansion ... this area desperately needs. Currently, the unemployment rate in Fresno County stands at 15.4 percent.

Fran Blackney, with the Clovis Chamber of Commerce says, Ryla will not only fill the need for people who are unemployed ... but also, for struggling businesses in the area. "They're going to have to go to lunch somewhere every day, so the restaurants are going to enjoy extra income, as well as gas stations and local stores."

Ryla will likely rent the vacant property next door to its existing call center ... in order to make room for all of its new employees. A move Wilson says is permanent in the city of Clovis.

Wilson adds, "Our expectation is that the folks that will get employment through this opportunity will be employees of ours for the long term. It's a permanent mindset we have for establishing our footprint here in Clovis."

Ryla will host a series of job fairs on October 18 through the 22nd, and October 25th to 27th. Each job fair begins at 9 a.m. at 170 West Shaw Avenue in Clovis.

They're asking that people at least have a high school diploma. Make sure to bring your resume along.
