The published report quickly went viral. People suddenly couldn't answer the question, "What's your sign?" Even folks who don't read their horoscope felt like they were having an identity crisis. The notion you'd have to change your Zodiac sign upset many people.
Kandice Wilkie said there's no way could be an Aries. Wilkie explained, "It's not me at all. I'm completely a Taurus. Anytime I tell somebody that I'm a Taurus they're like you are a Taurus Kandice. You are stubborn, completely like the bull."
Kandis Protzman is a proud Aries. We told her she would be a Pisces under the revised list. Protzman replied, "I'm an easy-going, go with the flow and that's part of Aries and then Pisces is kind of like more structured - not me."
Kandis added she is compatible with Pisces though. "I always look up somebody's sign when I'm talking to them on the internet or something."
At the Brass Unicorn, Rudy "the rock n' roll psychic" said the shifting Zodiac signs do not apply to westerners. He said, "This astrological system is nothing new. It's been around since the Babylonian period. The 13th sign is Ophiuchus."
Kandice Wilkie told her husband what she thought of the new sign. "You are completely a Sagittarius, you are not that new sign."
People sporting Zodiac tattoos wondered if they had to be replaced. Tattoo artist Cody Houser said, "People like kanji, people like Zodiac."
Houser often covers up tattooed names of customers' ex-girlfriends. "The same I guess with the Zodiac. A lot of people might come in and do a cover-up over a Zodiac sign, which is cool with me, I'll do it."
Like many others, Kandice Wilkie felt out of alignment. "It might be because when we know we're something maybe we kind of go along with that, you know. We kind of cater or form to that so changing just seems odd."
The Minneapolis astronomer quoted in the report said the information was two-thousand years old. He was stunned by all the attention.
