2 Valley HS football teams help boy with cerebral palsy score a touchdown

FRESNO, Calif.

One extra second was put on the clock at the end of the JV game between Atwater High and Buhach Colony.

The ball was placed on the 50 yard line, and a sophomore named Alex Zapien lined up in the backfield in his wheelchair. Atwater High snapped the ball, handed it to Alex, and formed a shell of protection as he headed down the field.

Buhach Colony defenders were bouncing off the blockers as more than 3,000 fans cheered for Alex. He made it to the end zone for an unforgettable touchdown.

One of Alex's teammates, Cameron Pacheco, came up with the idea, and both teams were happy to make it happen.
