SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's now legal for "beer bikes" to operate on city streets in California.
Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill while riding a beer bike today in Sacramento with his wife and their two dogs.
Beer bikes have been popping up in the capital city and in San Diego as a riding tour.
They often stop at bars and restaurants.
The new law creates a vehicle safety standard for these bike buses that allow up to 15 people to pedal at once.
But local governments get to decide if alcohol can be served on board.
