CHP officers investigate fatal DUI crash in Hanford

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The accident happened Sunday morning near Highway 198 and 12th Avenue around 2 a.m.

Authorities say a drunk driver was going the wrong way and swerving at more than 90 miles per hour when she collided with another vehicle.

One person inside that vehicle died and the other suffered minor injuries.

The driver who was under the influence has been identified as Lucia Gomez. Gomez is in the hospital with major injuries.
