FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It appears a faculty strike has been averted at campuses in the CSU system-- including Fresno State.
University officials and the union that represents campus faculty members said they have reached a tentative salary agreement. This means the five-day system wide strike scheduled to start next week will not happen.
The California Faculty Association has been seeking a five-percent salary increase for its 26,000 members. The university previously offered two-percent.
The faculty association and the Cal State system said in a joint announcement Thursday they will discuss details of the deal at a news conference Friday.
