FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Adam Ondra from the Czech Republic set a new record on El Capitan's most difficult route.
One of the most challenging rock walls in the world is the El Capitan Dawn Wall in Yosemite National Park. On Monday a climber conquered it, breaking a record set two years ago by U.S. climbers Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson, who were the first to free climb the route.
Free-climber Adam Ondra from the Czech Republic scaled the route in just 8 days -- shattering the previous record of 19 days.
Free-climbers get to the top using just their hands, feet, and strength. Ropes and harnesses are there, but only to catch a fall.
