DUBLIN, Calif. -- A big-rig driver was injured and beer was spilled onto a California highway after the truck carrying 6,000 cases of Coors Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon overturned.

KGO-TV reports (http://abc30.tv/1Aui7Qn ) that the California Highway Patrol Thursday morning issued a traffic alert following the crash on a highway east of San Francisco. The crash has snarled the morning commute.

Two lanes of westbound Interstate 580 in Dublin will be closed until about 10 a.m.

The driver of the big-rig told authorities he had a medical issue and ran the truck onto the highway's right shoulder, where it tipped over. He was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. CHP Officer Joshua Roderick says beer was leaking from the rig.

The 45,000 pounds of cargo have to be taken off the rig so it can be righted.
