Driver hits fire hydrant in Northeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An overnight accident had Fresno Firefighters struggling to stay dry after a driver hit a fire hydrant and then dragged it several feet.

The incident happened at Shaw Avenue and Cedar Avenue a little after 11 p.m. Sunday night. Fire crews worked to turn off the valve to the hydrant and everything was cleaned up a couple hours later.

The driver who hit the hydrant was not hurt. The cause of the crash is unknown.
