15-acre fire burning in Sequoia National Forest

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The U.S. Forest Service is battling a fire in the Sequoia National Forest.

The Shirley Fire is burning south of Shirley Meadows on Rancheria Road, below the community of Alta Sierra. The fire started around 5 p.m. Friday as a small 1-1/2-acre fire but has since grown to 15 acres.

Approximately 120 firefighters are on scene, and additional resources have been ordered.

There are no evacuations, but there are some road closures in the area.
