SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Sanger firefighters are calling an overnight garage fire suspicious. It broke out just after 1:30 a.m. behind a home on Sixth Street near Lyon.
Flames were coming from the side of a garage that was converted into an apartment. No one was inside at the time.
Firefighters said the fire was between the fence line of two properties.
Sanger Fire Chief Greg Tarascou said, "We're still trying to recreate what exactly this area was out here. It looks like a side yard, but they had a lot of belongings back here, and we're just back here to figure out if there was a way it could be other than suspicious."
Firefighters said the homeowner was inside the home at the time of the fire but no one was hurt.
