FRESNO COUNTY (KFSN) -- Eric Schletewitz's labor of love reduced to ash and rubble.
"It is going to be something we have to deal with."
Early Tuesday morning a fire broke out at the Schletewitz Family Farms fruit stand in Sanger-- stop number three on this years Fresno County Fruit Trail.
Schletewitz said he tried to put it out himself.
"We got up and tried to drag a hose out here and it wasn't long enough."
Within minutes the produce he and his wife worked hard to grow and picked with their very own hands was lost. All that remains is fruit blackened and chard by the flames.
Right now their loss is even greater, because in the next few weeks many people will travel by their home to visit the Blossom Trail, and instead of seeing a stocked stand, all they will see is all that's left behind.
"This is how... our farm is supported by the income that we generate here," said Schletewitz.
But this isn't the end for Schletewitz, he said he'll find a way to serve the people.
"We'll have to make alternative arrangements, I guess that is the positive way of putting it," said Schletewitz.
Cal-fire is still investigating the cause of the fire.
