FRESNO. Calif. (KFSN) -- The southbound lanes of Highway 99 are back open after an overnight crash in Downtown Fresno. It happened at around 3:00 Sunday morning near the Ventura exit.
The California Highway Patrol believes two drivers were ejected from their vehicles when they crashed into each other.
Both drivers are in the hospital with major injuries after officers found them lying on the freeway.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
All lanes of southbound 99 at Ventura Avenue were closed and traffic was diverted through the Ventura off-ramp.
